Le sigh. |

woo-hoo! anyway i bought this today ( big pic )i'm so happy i have it. i've been wanting to buy it for a long time (this, and the el mariachi/desperado double set) corpse bride is coming out tomorrow, don't know if i'm gonna watch it though. my favorite critic, david edelstein writes, "The movie is so Burtonesque that it verges on self-parody—but it's fun and stunningly beautiful anyway." sounds good! my favorite burton still has to be mars attacks. hillarious! probably what inspired me to love b-movies in the first place. aaah, b-movies equals love. |

looks like i'm going to be here for awhile
i've been wanting to go a lot of film festivals recently. but the biggest thing holding me back is money. i could've gone to toronto, but by the time my "bonus" came around it was too late. i might go to ONE screening at the New York Film Festival, but I still have to find out if i can go. anyway, was surfing twitch today and came across this which is pretty sweet, but feck, a ticket to texas costs around 300 dollars. an ipod nano would probably be a better invesment, yes? ;) Anyway, since all my film festival plans are falling through, I can only resort to this... making my own festival via netflix. hehe so here are the films i have seen so far dirty pretty things thx1138 night of the living dead dawn of the dead (romero original) hmmm, not very impressive yet, but since i'm gonna be here for awhile, the list will grow longer. i have a few danish films lined up (nope, not lars) and a dutch one i also saw foxy brown yesterday, which makes me realize even more how great quentin tarantino's taste is. i wish he'd write a book or something where he'd put his top 1000 films or something like that. and classified accordingly by genre, because the amount of films he has watched would be prodigious. and oh yeah, have seen also sympathy for mr. vengeance which was awsom! i'd like to see sympathy for lady vengeance but the tickets are sold out. regular theater screening will be in january. the movie theaters here have been quite disappointing. there really hasn't been anything that wants to draw me out except for the upcoming screening of thumbsucker. in the long run, aeon flux and serenity actually look interesting. not the typical mtv director turned movie director, the former is directed by the female director of girlfight, who also seems to have asian blood and the latter by, well that buffy guy. also found out The Fountain will be coming out on December 22. Plus Aronofsky is planning to direct Flicker. |

I went to Fully Booked yesterday and I saw a whole pile of Secret Identity graphic novels by Busiek and Immonen. It was a beautiful sight. Which also shows that it is a very sellable piece of merchandise. Hurray! Also saw other stuff that I wanted to buy but I don't want to say which ones, so that I don't get any spoilers. There is one comic book that I am desperately looking for which I hope to find today if I wake up. Woo-hoo! Anyway, must sleep because this afternoon is another day. Haha |
